Biography: Dr. Hazel Ann Gibbs De Peza has fifty years experience as an educator teaching at every level in the education system, primary, secondary, teacher education and tertiary levels. She retired as an assistant professor from the University of Trinidad and Tobago and continues in the field of education as principal of the Herman Parris Spiritual Baptist School of Theology of Trinidad and Tobago. Teacher Hazel, as she is more familiarly known, holds a diploma in teaching, a diploma in theology, a Bachelor of Arts honors degree in language and literature, a master of philosophy degree in linguistics, and a doctor of education degree in educational leadership, along with certificates for training as a life coach and life mastery consultant. A published author, poet and editor, Teacher Hazel has presented papers at many international religious and academic conferences, has designed and facilitated several workshops and education programs in leadership, literacy and self development, and is an ordained minister of religion in the Spiritual Baptist Christian Faith.

Her experience extends beyond classroom teaching to prison ministry, youth ministry, organizational administration and leadership in youth groups, women’s organizations, humanitarian societies, and religious organizations.
